1.NEW AFRIKA SHRINE (THE FELA SHRINE.)

The New Africa Shrine was opened in October 2000 to replace the Old Africa Shrine that was built by Fela Kuti in 1970. It is an open air entertainment centre and one of the best hangout spots in Lagos. If you want to have a good time during your stay in Lagos, The new African Shrine is the plug for you .It is located in Ikeja ,Lagos state and is currently managed by Femi KUTI and Yeni KUTI(The oldest children of Fela KUTI ).The New Afrika shrine showcases photo galleries of Fela Kuti and Seun Kuti which makes it a tourist attraction.

On July 3rd 2018,French President Emmanuel Marcon visited the Fela Shrine and pre-launched the Season of African cultures 2020 in France. The New Afrika Shrine is also the host location of the annual Felabration Music Festival.

2.NATIONAL MUSEUM

If you love Art and you’re coming on a vacation to Lagos or you already live in Lagos, The National Museum is the place for you. The museum is filled with so many historical artifacts and ethnographic exhibits and sculptures that tell stories. The museum was founded in 1957 by the English archaeologist Kenneth Murray. It has also educated many tourists on the history and culture of Nigeria. The museum is located in Onikan, Lagos Island.

  1. EKO ATLANTIC.

Eko Atlantic is a new peninsula constructed on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean .It is officially known as Nigeria’s  International commerce city or Eko Atlantic City.

The city adjoins Victoria Island district of Lagos and the Phase1 area of Lekki while the entire boarders are coastlines. Eko Atlantic is set to contain 10 districts in Lagos and it is set to be the site of commerce and housing in Lagos and has an amazing view when viewed from the top floor of a building.

4. IKEJA CITY MALL ( ICM)

This is a very big shopping complex situated in the heart of Ikeja ,the capital city of Lagos. The mall has over a hundred stores where you can shop for all your quality branded items .Apart from the fact that you can actually shop from over a hundred stores at the mall, you can also see  your blockbuster  movies at the  Silverbird  Cinemas ,Enjoy a sumptuous and mouth watering dish at one of the classy restaurants, shop for groceries and household items, Hang out with friends, carry out your bank transactions and  lots more.

The Ikoyi Club was established in 1938 as a European Club in Ikoyi, Lagos. 8.LEKKI CONSERVATION CENTRE.

Lekki Conservation Centre(LCC) has grown into one of Africa’s  most prominent and diverse urban nature parks .It is located in the coastal environs on the Lekki- Ajah expressway  covering a land area of 78 hecters, extending from 19 kilometers along the Lagos-Epe express way and ends up a very close distance to the Atlantic Ocean near Okun  Ibeju village. Run by the Nigerian Conservation foundation, Lekki Conservation Centre is one of the best and most visited conservation reserves in Nigeria . With an entrance fee of 1000 Naira, you can have access to the Canopy Walkway which happens to be the longest canopy walk way in Africa, Explore and take a walk around the Nature park, experience nature, see the wildlife animals that have been conserved and are living free and just have a taste of adventure .

Opening hours are from 8;30 am – 5pm daily. The best time to visit LCC is during the dry season to enable you experience nature to the fullest.

If you love to experience nature at its peak, Lekki Conservation Centre is the place to be.

9.TARKWA BAY.

Tarkwa bay is an artificial sheltered beach that is located near the Lagos Harbor in Nigeria. This beach is only accessible by water because of its Island status. You can also get a boat from places like Marina, Tarzan Marine and Mekwe Jetty to the beach. This beach is also known as the TREASURE ISLAND IN LAGOS. Tarkwa bay beach is one of the best places to relax and enjoy nature while on a vacation to Lagos. Entry to Tarkwa bay beach cost about 1000Naira in total.

While at the beach, you can have fresh fish barbeque, walk along the coast and enjoy the view of the massive old ships which could also act as amazing props for photography. You can also take a boat ride to Lagos Island and Victoria Island from the beach. Tarkwa bay beach is also a good place to just sit and clear your head while enjoying the sound of the waves coming from the ocean. It’s a beautiful sight to behold.
